The Lake Minnetonka Klondike Dog Derby will start on Water Street in the heart of charming downtown Excelsior, Minnesota. The course will continue down Water Street on to Lake Minnetonka and will run along its beautiful shores. The 40-mile race will run the perimeter of Lower Lake Minnetonka with no road crossings. The race will finish where it began, on Water Street in Excelsior. It will be a flat and fast run! We anticipate a great turnout of spectators, making for a fun race fueled by the energy and cheers of many race fans.

When we reach registration capacity for our 2025 race, you can sign up for the waitlist (waitlist to be released when registration is near full)
Mushers must be eighteen years of age or older. Younger drivers may be allowed to race with submission of musher’s race experience, signed release by a parent or legal guardian, and per Race Marshal approval.
