BILL DAMBERG

Bill is the President of the Board of Directors of the Lake Minnetonka Klondike Dog Derby and one of the founders of the race. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce, where he was previously President of the Board. Bill owns Brightwater Clothing & Gear in downtown Excelsior, a shop that specializes in uncommon goods for the adventurous lifestyle.

Born on the Iron Range of Northern Minnesota, Bill grew up outdoors. Winter or summer, outside was and is still better. Bill was educated at Macalester College, lived in the mountains of Colorado, raised his daughters on the south shore of Lake Superior in Bayfield, WI, and now resides in Minnetonka. Bill has been active throughout the years in helping create numerous outdoor events, non-profit entities, as well as a variety of retail businesses.

When not at Brightwater, Bill enjoys biking, alpine skiing, and racing, and splits his free time between a family cottage in Northern Minnesota, and time with his daughters in Big Sky, MT.
